Twilight

Yeah, I know thousands of people blogged about it before me, but it took me a while to decide whether or not to comment on this. Now I will.
Okay, I've gotten either two reactions to the movie version of Twilight: it was terrible, or it was just slightly disappointing. I think too many people had way too high expectations for Hollywood doing this. Honestly, remember Harry Potter? That was great until it hit the silver screen. It's a good movie series, but nothing can really compare to the text originals. So when Shelby and I went to see the midnight show for Twilight last Thursday, I expected it to suck, like a good movie-goer. Left the theatre not only pleased, but surprised. People, if you walk into a movie expecting it to bomb, there's a good chance you'll be pleasantly surprised. Unless you saw Babylon A.D. or Max Payne. Cut the movie and cast some slack, they're just human.
It was funny, way funnier than the book. And, I'll admit, at first I was disappointed in the casting, but once you actually go watch them in action, they did great. It doesn't matter how the actors look, what matters is if you can see the characters in their words and their actions. Ladies, no man on earth could ever compare to the Edward in our minds, but Robert Pattinson filled the spot well. And Edward (as did all of the other characters) looks different in everyone's minds. My Edward might have shorter hair than yours, or better teeth. Robert rocked it, as did the rest of the cast.
I only had one problem with one part, and I wish the Cullens were in it more. I was surprised that Jacob was in it as much as he was. I thought he might show up once and not show up until New Moon, but I don't mind. All I'm saying is, it's a good movie, a great one. People just expected too much out of it. Not every movie follows the book it's based on, and just because Twilight is an amazing book series doesn't mean it's movie counterpart has more right to follow the book than Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, or any other series. I definitely want to see it again, and I'm going to buy it when it comes out. And, although my heart will have problems during it, I will go see the second movie.

Varsity Fanclub

When I saw their video for "Future Love," two thoughts popped into my head: "Wow, these boys are pretty cute," and "This is the kind of pop I grew up with." It took me a few tries to get used to them, but I liked them right away. You have to wath their vid and see for yourself, but these guys definetly have an energy about them and are worth checking out. Plus, check out some of their sick moves. I just about died from the awesomeness when I saw this.

Oh goodness, I'm cursed

Hot, unattainable guys are haunting me! Especially talented ones. Top of the Charts for now, Ben Barnes. Yes, I am talking about Prince Capsian. He's hot, he's funny, he's tall, already he sounds like a winner. But get this: this guy can sing. He was in a pop group called Hyrise for about 4 minutes, in his words, and here's a video of them performing their song "Leading Me On." He was the second singer, btw. Honestly, what is up with me and pop groups lately? Well, the lead singer of Framing Hanley is hot too, but he made "Lollipop" a real rock song, so he deserves some praise for that.

Okay, I just had to blog about it

As everyone should now be aware, I am in LOVE with Papa Roach. I love their music, the band members, pretty much everything. However, I was a little disappointed in their last album, Paramore Sessions. It was good, really good, it just wasn't what I was waiting for. These guys totally made it up though with their first single off their new album, which is due in early 2009, Hollywood Whore. The music was bangin', the video was pretty cool, and I've finally forgiven Tony Palermo for taking Dave's place as the drummer. Watch the video here, and be amazed by the power of rock n' roll, Papa Roach style!!

I crashed again!!!!

Yep, I crashed for the second time and it was GREAT!!! My grandpa let me ride his new scooter and I drove it to the park. I did pretty good until I got to the park, then I forgot to brake when I came up to a low pole and flipped the scooter over. I flew off the bike and got scraped up, but I got off better than the scooter; I scraped some of the paint off one side. A lady across the street helped me get the scooter up and PawPaw drove it home. It was so much fun, but I doubt I'll get another try at it anytime soon.

NLT CONCERT a.k.a. BEST NIGHT EVER!!!

On May 11th I skipped out on Mother's Day and went to Dallas with my friends to see our favorite pop band, NLT, at the House of Blues. I was a little nervous; I did my best to look nice, I was going to be on the floor by myself because all of my other friends got balcony seats, and I planned on giving Travis a ring I bought him during the meet and greet.
We got in there after waiting for 20 minutes for the doors to open and guess what: there was no balcony and the concert area was smaller than we thought. The "balcony" seats were really roped off sections of the floor that actually had chairs and got served Gatoraide. I could've sat in there whether I had a ticket or not. Despite my pleas and the seat mix up, my friends wouldn't come to the floor with me, so I hung out there for about an hour until the show started.
The show began when 2 guys named Mark and James came out, playing the hosts of Bandemonium. They played us a few of their songs and were pretty awesome. They told us funny stories and hit on the girls a bit before introducing V-Factory.
V-Factory was GREAT. There were 5 of them and played us 4 or 5 of their songs. They were all pretty hot and were great singers and dancers. I knew I had to keep an eye on these guys too, they converted half of the crowd to their side by the time they left the stage for NLT.
Now, these are my boys, and I love them to death, but they are WAY hotter in person than a TV or computer screen. Photos cannot do these boys justice. They performed wonderfully and sang some of my favorite songs. They serenaded the webmistress of NLTonline.org and a random girl in the audience before getting back to the show. I didn't realize how close to the stage I was until I touched V's hand twice. I flipped out, especially when the guys left and I fought my way back to my friends.
After that, we left without watching Menudo to get to the meet and greet early, where we met a pretty cool chick named Becky. Funny how all the cool people are named Becky, huh? Anyway, after about 30 minutes or so, all the bands came up to the meet and greet and signed stuff for us. I met everyone, including Menudo. 2 of their guys hit on me, I shook hands with Asher from V-Factory, and chatted with Mark about stripping before turning around and seeing Travis smiling at me. I tripped out for a minute (hey, I wasn't prepared!) before smiling and letting him sign the poster I brought for NLT to sign. After he signed it in a silver marker, I handed my napkin-wrapped ring to him and told him I got him a gift. This made him happy, especially after he unwrapped it and saw the ring. He loved it so much that he gave me a long hug and even kissed me on the cheek. Yes, I kissed him back! After that, all the guys from NLT offered me hugs and I chatted a few minutes with V, who is pretty awesome (he feels the same about me :)) before leaving with my friends to go home. From what I gathered, I was the only one who didn't have to ask for a hug from the guys and the only one who got kissed.
That was the greatest night of my life and I can't wait to see those guys again. I should buy more gifts for them, this time for the WHOLE band. :)

I'm sold

I may not have heard their German stuff, but I'm boarding the Tokio Hotel train. I wasn't sure if they'd be good performing live, but their performance at the MTV Awards last year blew me away.
