Christmas

The majority of 2010 has been pretty sucky, but Christmas for than made up for it with its epic win. I got to see a lot of my family and got a lot of amazing gifts, even though none of them were on the list. Right now I'm on my new laptop at my dad's house, watching The John Cena Experience with Brandon while Daddy sleeps on the couch with Ender on his stomach.
I got a ton of lamps for Christmas this year. Some of them will endanger me psychologically at night -Spartacus! Get OFF the laptop!- but I'll be using them, especially when I have company over. Socrates and Plato (my mind hamsters) have physically manifested in the form of Zhu Zhu pets. They'll probably battle it out with Desiree's whenever we're out of the house. I got three calenders, beautiful jewelry, and tons of wolfy stuff (earrings, charm bracelet, figurines, etc.). Very good haul, in my opinion.
I'm excited about being on vacation for a while. I'll probably get a lot of writing done and now that I have the laptop, I can keep up with typing the stories out too. It's nice to get away every once in a while to clear my head and de-stress a bit.
Well, going to watch more Criminal Minds now. I hope everyone had a good holiday as well!

Pirates of the Caribbean and the Jack Sparrow dilemma

I can never escape the pirates. They were my school's mascot, my cousin still kind of thinks he is one, and now the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie is opening two days after my birthday, probably to make up for the end of the Shrek series, which shares my b-day normally. I just watched POTC's new trailer and, well, I'll explain.
I realized that no one cares about the plots of this series, we just want to see Johnny Depp. This movie looks a little hard to follow and it seems the writer just dumped a barrel of mythical creatures into the script for no reason at all, but I still plan to spend the $5 to watch Jack Sparrow run around and make me laugh.
I've also realized where I stand on my feelings for Jack Sparrow. As mega-hot as he is, it just wouldn't work. There's something wrong with him mentally and his illness+mine would destroy any children we'd be unlucky enough to make. Plus, his life is just ridiculous, and I think a lot of girls (aside from my step-sister) are coming to this conclusion as well. During the first movie we were like "Yeah, he's hot enough to go through all of this crap for" or "I could do this every day! I could live that life" but after the next two movies, we realized that we couldn't and that he wasn't. Watching the trailer for the new one brought it up again. I'd just give him one last kiss, tell him I'll never forget him, and then jump into the nearest safety boat and head out somewhere slightly more normal. His life is just too dizzying.
I also saw him interact with Penelope Cruz, and I was surprised that I didn't have the overwhelming urge to slit her throat for touching my (former) man like I still kind of do when I see Gwen Stefani with Gavin or Megumi with Hyde. They're pretty hot together, and I like the pairing. On a side note, have you noticed that Penelope's real-life man is the guy who always plays the "other man" or that "irresistible" guy who makes the female characters feel like they haven't lived enough and want to change that? I can't count how many movies I've seen him sweep attached women off their feet and make them feel alive. I wonder how he and Johnny would do in a seduction fight...

Lalala!

It just hit me that it's December and we have sixteen days until Christmas. Hopefully I was the only one late about the holiday, but whatever. It seems I have a super busy schedule this time around. My mom wants me around for a week until Christmas Day, then she'll bring Brandon and I back and I'll drive us to Austin for the other half of the family. Somewhere in all of that, I want to see Kathleen and see at least part of the Brown family. I'd also like to see my great-grandmother, but I don't know how this is all going to work out. I guess I'll try to squeeze everyone in the best I can.
We bought ourselves a short, purple tree. It's kind of cute and looks gay-friendly, so of course I'm all for it. It was stupid-easy to put up and was pre-lit, which made it the perfect candidate for the Pelton household. I have no idea where we're going to put the gifts, but we'll find a way.
Brandon fractured his ankles and is on crutches for a week, the poor boy. He hobbles home every day and couldn't even attend church last night. I told him you can't praise Jesus on crutches and immediately prayed for forgiveness. I don't know how comedians do half their jokes and not donate a few extra bucks to church immediately afterward.

Turkey Day

I had a wonderful holiday. It was absolutely fabulous and made me appreciate the true meaning of the holiday: being thankful for the blessings in my life.
Thanksgiving morning, I woke up to see Grandma and Paw Paw off for the night before digging into the turkey grandma cooked for me before they left. An hour or so after my lunch, my friends rallied up and came over, determined to not have me alone for the holiday. We went out and window-shopped for a bit before separating for the night.
The next day was our appointed girls day. Around noon, we met up at Ross and went on a destructive shopping spree at the outlet and Richland malls, all of us getting a thing or three. After having a blast at the Richland mall, we went to Summer Palaca (our favorite restaurant) and ate up. After that, we came back to my place and had our sleepover, gossiping about old school friends, playing truth or dare, and having in-depth conversations before passing out around 3 or so in the a.m.
This morning, we all had a photo shoot before Krissy went home. Then Amber, Kat, and I went to Walmart and drove around for a bit before they left as well. It was a good end to a great holiday period.
I'm so glad and lucky to have seen my friends while they were here and get a huge chunk of their time. I missed them like crazy and I can't wait to see them again soon! I sincerely hope everyone had as good of a holiday as I did.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 1)

Before I do anything else, I have to congratulate Rhys Ifans for proving me completely wrong. He made Mr. Lovegood's character one of the hottest people in the movie and if I were there, Luna would have a step-mom before his screentime ended.
Okay, now that I got that out of my system, the movie was epic. I cried many times during the movie, not just for the characters we lost, but also for the sufferings for the others. This installment really pulled on the heartstrings. It still made time for the epic mini-duels. I totally want to Stupefy someone, Harry made it look so cool. The movie cut out a few unimportant things and surprisingly covered a lot of ground for the first part. It looks like the second part is just going to be the Gringotts break-in and the battle over Hogwarts. The producers completely cut out Phineas Black's character to my slight happiness.
Now for my hot list. Poor, poor Luscius Malfoy. Poverty doesn't suit him. The entire time he looked like he needed a spa treatment and a shopping spree. Everyone looked like crap, to be honest. I get it, there was a war going on, but Hermione (who looked super hot in this one) looked like she was the only one who said "You know what? I'm taking a shower, Dark Lord be damned." Even the ever-delicious Severus Snape looked pretty run-down, and I usually never have anything bad to say about his appearance. The only casting disappointment was Bill Weasley. Come on guys, he was supposed to be hot, not sick and dying.
Overall, everyone should see it. It was awesome and now I can't wait for part two. Hurry up!

I had to blog about it

So I just found the biggest Harry Potter fan ever. No seriously, I did. This guy puts the "fan" in "fanatic". I can't even tell you all the ways he proves his claim. Lord Voldemort himself tweeted about the video. See for yourself.

CMA Awards

Man, they have the CMA's like four times a year. This is getting ridiculous. I don't even like country music.
So anyway, I watched the CMA's last night and I must say, Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert committed some major robberies. Miranda did earn a few of them, I'll admit that, but the only reason Lady Antebellum won any awards is because they tricked people into liking the one song anyone's ever heard from them, and it wasn't even a good one.
Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, and Carrie Underwood, artists who deserve awards almost every time they're nominated, went home with nothing. Really, CMA people, really? They were lucky Brad Paisley got Entertainer of the Year or I would've had to go on a rampage. I repeat, I really don't like country music as a whole, but there are several artists who deserve that clear crayon-shaped award they were passing out, and all of them either received very few or lost out to Lady Antebellum or Miranda Lambert. This was so ridiculous, and I know the AMA's are going to be even worse if Beiber, Swift, and Cyrus are up for awards.

Me Day

Yesterday afternoon, I decided I due for a major Me Day. I've been too stressed out and overworked and I deserved at least a few hours to dedicate to making me feel awesome. So I cleaned the bathroom and my room and went to work.
First I took a long, hot bath. I used some bath salts my grandma gave me and played my nature CD as I soaked. When I got out of that, I gave myself a mani-pedi and got dressed in some comfy clothes to watch Madea's Family Reunion the play. For those few hours, I didn't think about anyone else but me, and it was awesome. It wasn't perfect since I was so unprepared, but it was good enough to keep a smile on my face for the rest of the night.

Horrible (Yet Awesome) Night

Oh Ra. Last night, Michael, Erica, and I went to see Paranormal Activity 2. If anyone remembers, I cried my eyes out and couldn't sleep for months after seeing the first one. When I realized there was a second one, I knew I had to see it for closure. Unfortunately, this was not meant to be.
Mistake 1: We went to see it at night. Mistake 2: I sat next to a guy who worked as a monster for the haunted house and loved to scare people. I can't ruin the plot of the movie, but I will say it's not really a sequel. If you see it, you'll get it. So I cried during this movie. Twice. And I mean bawling. Then after it ended, Michael jumped at me screaming and I had to fight not to crawl on Erica to escape. Then when we were leaving, he jumped out at me from around a corner and I tried to run. I got him back later though; he tried to scare me when we were at Erica's apartment and, on reflex mind you, I totally whacked him on the shoulder. He wasn't upset, thank Ra, but I still felt bad.
After the movie, we went to Common Grounds, a local coffee place, where Michael was buying me coffee as thanks for taking him to work all month. There I met the girl I'm supposed to marry. And when I say met, I mean I stood in line and watched mesmerized as she bustled behind the counter to make us coffee. Common Grounds itself was a magical place to be. I can't really describe it, but it was so peaceful and artsy that I have to go back one day. There were tons of gorgeous people there too, so yay :).
After all of this, we picked up Erica's mom and took her to Denny's and Walmart, both adventures not worth mentioning. Once again, Paranormal Activity 2 ruined all the sleeping at night progress I made and I sat up waiting for Paw Paw to wake up so I knew it was safe to pass out. I sense a pattern reappearing.

Boys in Tank Tops

Yes, I said it. There's something strangely hot about guys wearing tank tops. Erica and I were discussing this last night after watching a few episodes of Jersey Shore. Well, actually we were talking about how nowadays we preferred guys in certain pieces of clothes rather than less; then we got to the topic of tank tops, black ones to be specific. It was decided that we haven't seen a guy yet (aside from extreme examples) that have ruined the tank look. My crush, her ex, and our friend have all attempted the look and all have passed with flying colors. I kind of want to have tank contest now. I'll be a judge ;).

Mahbu Lately

I'm currently watching Daniel and my twin step-brothers while my mom is running errands. The boys started off shy at first, but they quickly warmed up to me and there hasn't been a moment of peace since my mom walked out the door. Lol I've missed having kids watch movies and play with toys on the floor. Right now everyone's watching Quest for Camelot and playing with trains.
Anything else up with me? Not really. I've written a few songs, but I haven't been hit with a major case of writing fever yet. Hopefully when I do, I can write a bit more on D.O.M. I'm still looking for jobs and am trying to figure out what school I'll be going to in the spring.
Well, that's it for now. I know the post is short and I haven't updated lately, but I've barely been home and if I do post, it's usually on Sand Apart, Hearts Close. I'll try to update this one more often though.

I'm Sick

Today I got sick :( I'm currently fighting to breathe through my nose as I type. One of my friends has been sick for a while and since I'm always with her, I got the sniffles now. I'd set up my fog machine/humidifier, but some of the parts are missing. I'm just going to go to sleep early tonight and see how I fare tomorrow.
I've decided that in order to earn money since I can't score a job, I should clean houses. So far there are several people interested in hiring me, so I hope I get one soon. In fact, I'm sending one of my hopeful clients some references right now.
I'm going to stop now, since I can barely see straight and I'm a bit hungry.

My Cousin's Wedding

Yesterday one of my cousin's got married at the Civic Center. There's really not much to post since I didn't stay there long. The ceremony was short and small, and there were a lot of speeches made. When it became clear that they probably wouldn't cut the cake before my 21st birthday, I bounced. I did get a few pics, just not of myself. I don't go to a lot of weddings so I didn't know how many pics I could take without looking in appropriate.

Lately

I've been on a major writing streak this past week. I'm very close to finishing a season of one of my series, I'm starting a few others, and I've been working on a few songs. Once I get a day to myself, I'm going to sit down and just write until I get several things finished. I'm very excited with how my projects are going.
Today one of my cousins is getting married and I'm currently getting my hair done for the wedding. I'm excited to go and be with this side of my family again' I haven't seen most of them since the family reunion last month.
I've been making a lot of new friends lately, almost all of them being very awesome, so I'm happy about that. I've been opening myself up to new experiences and it's been nothing but a blessing so far. But just because I'm hanging out with more people doesn't mean I'm forgetting the friends that have been with me from the start. I can't wait to see Kat for Thanksgiving, Krissy whenever she gets the chance to visit again, and Devin when he graduates. I'm keeping the friends that turned into family in mind and I hope I can do something special for all of them soon.

Monday Night....TELEVISION!!

Everyone thought I was going to say Raw lol That's later. First it's DWTS. I have a group of seven people I'm rooting for: Brandy, Kyle Massey, Michael Bolton, The Situation, Rick Fox, Margaret Cho, and Florence Henderson. Mrs. Brady converted me to her side during her rehearsal footage. We need more swearing old ladies in the world, I believe. I can't talk about their dancing because I barely paid attention; Raw came on an hour into it.
Randy Orton is the new WWE Champion!!! Woot! It's about time he got it; he's had a crazy winning/murder streak for months and he really deserves the championship right now. And have you seen John Morrison? It looks like he's finally got his groove back! I really hope he'll be up for a championship match soon, just not against Randy Orton. I also hope Triple H comes back soon so he can shut Sheamus up. A girl can only wish ;).

Harrison Potter

Does the Harry Potter franchise really need another hot guy to be fantasized over? Don't they have enough? Apparently they don't think so, because Rhys Ifans (a.k.a. Adrian from Little Nicky) just joined the magical cast as Luna Lovegood's dad. Granted, he's not hot in character, but when he actually showers and shaves in real life, I find him very attractive. I don't know what to do about this; when it comes to Harry Potter, I'm already in a committed relationship with Severus Snape after breaking up with Oliver Wood when we finished school. Then again, if Lucius Malfoy decided he was tired of the domestic life and wanted someone to spend money on I wouldn't object either...
Yes, I know I have problems. But aside from that, I'm very excited about the new Harry Potter movie coming out in TWO MONTHS!!! Start your countdowns.

Movies!

Okay, I'm not going to talk about Paranormal Activity 2 or it's creepy trailer with the stills that scarred me for life not matter how much I kind of want to. It was a mistake to let the spoiler in me run free that day.
Well, yesterday Grandma bought two movies on demand, one I've been wanting to see and another I didn't care about too much. The first one was Just Wright, starring Queen Latifah and Common. I forgot how much I loved Queen Latifah; she's so cool and confident in herself, and I feel like her character Leslie is close to how she really is. In this movie, Leslie is a physical therapist who is constantly (but understandably at some points) placed in the "friend" category with men. I really don't understand guys with this, and I know girls do this too. You meet someone fantastic that you can have a real conversation for hours with and when the date's over, you decide you're not interested? I can get it if the physical attraction's not there or something, but when you actually found them attractive beforehand? Fine, go miss out. And Common? After 5 minutes of being on screen, I realize I had a crush on Common! I think he's a pretty decent actor. Every time I watch one of his movies, I'm sold on his character.
Then Grandma bought Letters to Juliet and I wanted to barf at first. I didn't really pay attention to is until the middle and I got sucked in, mostly by the cute guys that randomly showed up. The original Lorenzo Bartolini is very handsome and Victor, Amanda Seyfried's fiancee in the movie, had the most mesmerizing eyes I've ever seen. It was a cute movie, and one of the few times I'm glad everything worked out for everyone.

Inspiration!

You know, my friends really have to thank Square Enix and Disney, because with Kingdom Hearts' triumphant return with their new game Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, my mojo's come back with a vengeance. I'm currently typing away on my keyboard, updating D.O.M. season 2 and I will probably type up as much as I can of C.O.N. season 1. I'm kind of sad these stories can never be published; I'd be sued so hard my descendants would pay for it if I ever tried.
So yeah, my heart's only content if I'm creating something musical or literary. Woot! This post really wasn't very informative and it didn't have a point, I'm just happy I'm writing again. :)

Great Day

I, surprisingly, had a very good day today. I like days that are just awesome on their own instead of you having to set out to make it good or lay in bed at the end of the day and decide if it was decent. It was a very nice change of pace.
I overslept today but didn't sweat it; I'll get back on track tomorrow. I sat at the computer (as I always do) and after a couple of hours I found out VH1 would finally be airing I Love Money 4 on September 16. They won't release the third season because of the whole Ryan Jenkins thing, but the series is coming back! Yay! I've missed my reality trash. VH1 used to be king of the celebreality garbage, but golden, can with shows like Flavor of Love, Rock of Love, and the spin-offs after it, but after stupid Ryan Jenkins from Megan Wants a Millionaire went and allegedly killed his wife, VH1 put the "romance" themed and I Love Money shows in a closet. It's not our fault he was crazy, why did we have to suffer? I know, I know, someone lost a daughter and canceling Ryan's shows was the only appropriate action, but still. I know, I'm a bad person, or at least insensitive when it comes to this event. VH1's reality shows were the only television I watched, so I eventually stopped watching tv because those were the only things I liked. I eventually got into wrestling and the Jersey Shore, but now that I Love Money's back I'm going to be glued to the tv. Jwoww, Sammi, Snooki, and Angelina combined are nothing compared to the Rock and Flavor of Love girls drama-wise. I cried in happiness when I watched the trailer for the show.
Then Amanda took me to get some Subway and my grandfather took me to go eat Chinese when I went to go visit him. Then he took me to Burlington Coat Factory to buy a dress for my cousin's wedding and let me tell you something: I'm going to look hot! I'm going to have to get a cardigan or something to cover up a bit, but this dress is sick! I'll be posting some photos tomorrow, probably.
Free food, "quality" reality tv, and a day without being hit on? This has been an awesome freaking day.

Darin's back!

Swedish singer Darin Zanyar has one of the most beautiful voices and songs I've ever heard in my life; he's in my top 5 favorite male vocalists. Lyrically and vocally he's a dream come true and a musical delight. Words can't describe how moving his music is. Well, he has a new track out called "Lovekiller". I think I'm in love with him a little bit after this one. I'd love to hear him and Travis Garland or Josh Groban do a duet one day. They should all form a new boyband. No, I'm not kidding.

Obsessions, Obsessions

Oh Ra, I've done it. I've broken down and watched the Jersey Shore, mostly for Pauly D. Then I discovered JWoww and I think I'm a little addicted to the show. I haven't seen first season, but we have the first three episodes on demand and the next two show on tv all the time, so I'm all caught up on season 2. Wow, that's a lot of drama. The show's actually pretty decent, but I'm tired of the Ronnie and Sam predicament. I'm also tired of Angelina's mouth. Just shut up and sit in a corner until I say you can have an opinion. Oh, but Pauly! He looks so cute! He looks like an Egyptian slave, kind of, like his mom was a noblewoman in Egypt who had an affair with a foreign slave, so they were cast into slavery. Yeah, I thought that storyline out too far. And Jwoww...well, she sure earned her name.
Well, I applied at a few places, but I haven't been contacted for anything. I'll just have to keep trying until someone breaks and gives me an interview at least. I went shopping with Amanda at Ross on Saturday and bought a few things, but Ross was lacking in cute clothes that day, the traitor. I'm going to have to shop again for real clothes. As much as I'd want to, I can't wear band tees and jeans forever. I have to grow up sometime and get a little professional.

GROSS! And COOLIO!

GROSS: I recently discovered I hate the word "yum", even "yummy". I don't know, those words just sound disgusting to me. For some reason, I feel like if someone uses that word in conversation with me that they're trying to be sexual, and that's just not a sexy word. Bleh. Nasty. A guy on facebook keeps saying it, and even though he's talking about food, I keep wanting to flag him. But maybe that's just because he's stalked me on and off for two years...
COOLIO: A couple of my friends and I started a team blog (it's one of the ones I'm following) and we already have two posts up. Yay! I can already tell this is going to be fun. I like the idea of team anything, especially on the internet. Like the co-ops on farmville.

My opinion on LKH's "Divine Misdemeanors"

I need to rant about a few things, the first being LKH's newest faerie slut- I mean, Meredith Gentry series, Divine Misdemeanors. Once I found out it existed, I screamed in delight. LHK has nothing on my literary homegirl Sara Douglass, but she managed to convince me that a long-term relationship with Unseelie princess Meredith Gentry would be a good thing. I thought the series was over with Swallowing Darkness, but alas, the series spawned a new book with the promise of more to come (yippie!). Most of the reviews I saw claimed the book was crap, but one positive one contradicted those statements and I have to agree.
Compared to the majority of the population in the literary world, it was nothing to brag about when it comes to plot, writing style, and other technical things (but then again, the entire series is that way), but it wasn't outright awful. The person with the positive review theorized that the other reviewers must've been pissed that Doyle and Frost (Merry's favored lovers) played less of a role than usual, and I think they had a point. The beautiful duo weren't the shining stars, but that meant we go to see more of the other characters, yay!! Rhys and Galen were more active than they were the past two books (Rhys more than Galen, another yay) and we saw more of Sholto, Barinthus, and some of Merry's L.A. pals. Maeve is also supposed to be making a triumphant return next book, so Merry has a pregnant buddy. Yay, two women with mood swings and cravings. The guards are going to have a ball with them. I miss the queen. She was insane, but I liked her.
Now, plot bunnies. A secret about Meredith's beloved late father is hinted at, a whole new race of fey is wanting some of Merry's attention, and a fairy godmother actually exists. Oh boy. Who knows what's going to happen. I didn't think the story would be fun without Meredith screwing for her life and a throne, but L.A.'s got magical powers of it's own, apparently, especially when it comes to dangerous murder plots on a faerie princess. Ew, I hate that spelling of fairy, I'm a 90's kid.

My Hellish Trip to the Dentist

Yesterday began my descent into hell. I went in around 8 in the morning to get spacers in my teeth to prepare for braces next week. All day I could barely eat and I sounded like Jack Swagger when I talked, which my brother will happily confirm. My gums hurt, my stomach ached, and I began trying to bargain with our creator. Yesterday, however, was child's play compared to what happened in the last hour.
Today I had to get my baby teeth pulled out, since they weren't leaving on their own. We went in and, to my despair, I heard my crazy-sexy dentist's voice. I had hoped he wouldn't tarnish his angelic image in my mind by putting me through this preliminary pain, but alas, he did. I knew pulling teeth was going to suck from the get go, and what everyone said was right. They stuck that syringe in my mouth and immediately I would've rather been stabbed in the eye. My gums burned and cried out for mercy, but it never came. Then he left me alone for the number to spread and me to bawl my eyes out over what was coming next. When he returned, he proceeded to rip my poor baby teeth from my mouth. It wasn't horrifying, sell-your-soul-to-the-devil pain, but it was very unpleasant.
While the nurse tended to me, my grandma asked my former Angel of Dentistry and now Angel of Painful Death how long I would have to wear braces. I had heard from other that with my problem, it should only be 3-6 months, but he bashed my hopes with a sledgehammer when he said around 2 years. Yep, my life is over. Nothing anyone can say can change that. Well, unless John Morrison showed up and wanted to go out with me regardless of the metal in my mouth.
So now I'm sitting here, typing up this blog before I take some medicine to sleep this day away, to spread this message: DENTISTS WORSHIP SATAN!!! Think about it: they train to go into your mouth and wreak havoc to reduce you to a sobbing mess on the floor. Practically torture.
This is the worst experience of my life. I'd rather spend two years with Katie from Paranormal Activity than two years with braces. And if if anyone tries to tell me "Kayla, braces aren't that bad. People get them all the time" "You'll be thankful you got them done", do me a favor: stfu and fall in a hole, alright? I'm ready to lock myself up in seclusion until this is all over. Either be extremely sympathetic or get the heck out.

My WWE retirement thoughts

Well, rumor has it that Triple H plans to retire from the world of wrestling in as early as a year. People are worried that if he does leave soon, the current bunch of wrestlers left are not in the same caliber as him, Shawn Michaels, or the bevy of other WWE legends who have retired recently; I'm honestly not that worried about it.
Yes, I'll miss Hunter and no one could really replace him, but come on. WWE still has very talented wrestlers under their unemployment that just don't get the best chances to prove themselves as megastars. We do have the big names like John Cena and Randy Orton who are obviously not going anywhere soon, but we also have Christian (who almost every wrestler agrees needs more exposure), John Morrison, Rey Mysterio, and Matt Hardy who still entertain all of us and are very good athletes. I didn't even mention some of the talented, but more unknown wrestlers who barely get a match every week.
Maybe Triple H leaving will be good for the other superstars because they'll need someone to fill Hunter's spot. Anybody who's watched Raw for the past couple of months can see that there's almost too much starpower without him. Think about how crowded the locker room will be when he comes back.

Yes, I'm one of those people who read interesting blog articles and studies on parenting, love, and sex. Sue me. But usually when you're bored and just floating around on the net, you can find some pretty interesting stuff on there.
Like this, for example. It's an article called "Marriage, Schmarriage: What's the Point in Getting Married?" by Yumi Sakugawa I believe, and posted on a site called intent. It's basically her views on marriage vs. long-term relationship and other things related to the topic. I found it pretty interesting and thought she made some valid points. Now, I do believe in marriage, but I don't think it's utterly necessary. However you feel about it, I think the article was pretty cool.
Now that this post is over, I'm off to read more of these articles.

Twilight Saga Eclipse

Of course, the night before the official release, I went to see the new Twilight movie. Normally, I have at least one gal pal to go with me to the midnight screening so we can squeal together, but this time I had to fly solo since no one else wanted to wait in line fore 3 hours just to get decent seats. Bummer. I felt like an even bigger geek because I drove to the theatre 5 hours early just to see if the line was bad already. Luckily for me, my momentary geekiness paid off. Let me tell you how.
I got there around 7 pm and decided to stay there instead of going home or something. I saw they were having a blood drive, so I got in line to pass away the time. It was awesome to see a blood drive at a vampire movie, especially because there were two buses, one for Team Edward and the other for Team Jacob. Nice idea, Carter Blood Care. Anyway, while I was waiting in line, a lady from our local radio station came out and offered free tickets to see an even earlier screening of Eclipse at 8. Of course, I jumped for a ticket, but no one else did! Fools. I went inside, got in the theatre, and tied down a seat. When they closed the doors for the movie, we still had room! I guess not many people showed up early. There goes my geekiness talking.
Okay, time for the movie. It was pretty good, in my opinion. Kristen Stewart did a better job at portraying Bella; she actually had a personality this time and wasn't panting all over the place. RPtaz could've done a better job, but oh well. I wasn't watching for him anyway. I'm officially a Team Jasper girl! Jasper was HOT, way hot, in this movie! He had a lot more screen time this time around, so we can bask in his prettiness longer. Riley, Victoria's new beau, was surprisingly cute as well, but better as a human; apparently immortality doesn't work for everyone. The new girl who plays Victoria also does a good job! I'm kind of sad that we only get to see her in this one movie. Well, if you read the book, you know what happens, so I'm not going to get into the plot.
Overall, very good experience. I think anyone who sees the movie will be pleasantly surprised at a better Bella and will enjoy the movie.

Grr, NXT...

Well, my life has been topsy-turvy since WWE Raw had their viewer's choice night. These NXT rookies are going to give me emotional problems. I may be knocking on Prozac's door before the end of this.
So they keep attacking people, especially John Cena, and then claim they have a problem with WWE management and it's "nothing personal" to anyone else. Yeah, sure, I'll believe that when someone reveals that Hitler had a soul. Apparently, the anti-christ himself-, I mean, Vince McMahon, has played a part in their foolishness. Well, karma sucks, doesn't it, old man? The rookies knocked the mess out of him last night. Btw, good luck to John Cena when it comes to reclaiming his WWE Championship. You'll get it back soon, but hopefully you'll take out those vagabonds first. Randy, your revenge is near, and I'll be cheering in delight when you deliver it.
In non-wrestling news, Ben Barnes somehow defied the laws of hotness and got even sexier. He's a a walking science disprover. He even grew some facial hair and it's only increased his hot-guy powers. Talk about superhuman. Don't believe me? Watch the new Chronicles of Narnia trailer. Although I've decided that even with it's talking animals, Narnia could never beat Hogwarts in magicalness, I will watch it just to see Mr. Barnes. Oh, and they took away his Mediterranean accent. So, fail.

WWE's first Viewer's Choice

Last night's Raw/Smackdown mashup was a Viewer's Choice and one of the most amazing shows I've seen on tv. Thank you, Ashton Kutcher, for coming up with the idea! All the matches and stipulations were decided by the fans, who voted on wwe.com. Of course, I participated, and I loved it! They should do this more often.
Big Show fought Chris Jericho in a Body Slam Challenge. Since Big Show is bigger than Jupiter, he won, to nobody but Chris Jericho's surprise.
The Great Kahli and Hornswaggle (a giant and a midget) were voted to compete for the United Tag Team Championship against the Hart Dynasty. Unfortunately, they lost :(.
The Divas had a battle royale, which had some great elimations, but Maryse wound up being the victor. Thankfully, no one really cares about the Divas unless they're fighting in a pool of pie filling or soap, so the match didn't really count.
KANE VS. SHEAMUS!! I've been waiting for Sheamus a.k.a. Pasty the Irish Ghost to get a beatdown for months, and my boy Kane delivered! Kane unleashed his fury about his half-brother's, the Undertaker, mystery attacker on Sheamus, who he previously accused of the cowardly attack. I dislike Sheamus, but I don't think he'd hide doing something like that; he likes to make a spectacle of things. And am I the only one who thinks Pasty lost weight? He looks slimmer.
Unfortunately, The Miz and Zack Ryder defeated R-Truth and John Morrison. I was disappointed that that happened, but WOAH!! John Morrison returns to television from a break due to an injury looking hotter than ever! Luckily, this time his abs, awesome outfit, gorgeous hair, and ankles made it unscathed.
The Randy vs. Edge match ticked me off. Since Randy was in a sling, the general managers made it fair by tying one of Edge's arms behind his back. Randy came out strong, but Edge untied his arm and abused him. One day, I'll put a hit on Edge. What comforts me about this is that as soon as Randy heals up, Edge is going to get destroyed.
Yay! Matt Hardy beat that irritating, wannabe Viking Drew McIntyre! Ripped his hair out too! Revenge is sweet, eh Hardy?
Then the final match, John vs. wannabe Jesus- I mean, CM Punk. John, of course, won. Then the rookies from WWE's reality show, NXT, came out and destroyed John Cena, the announcers, and the ring. It was like rape and pillage and horrible to watch. It was so disturbing I can't describe it. Personally, I think they took out Undertaker to make a name for themselves and continued their campaign on John. After all, barely anyone can take out Undertaker in a fair fight and John Cena's the face of the company. How else do you get attention than by doing this? Hopefully we'll get answers tonight on NXT season 2 premiere.

My Birthday!

Surprisingly, I had a great birthday yesterday. Nevermind, I take that back, it's not surprising when you factor in the fantastic people I have in my life who love me so unselfishly and will do everything they can to make sure I have a great day. The only things that could've made my day even more awesome are my dad, step-mom, step-sisters, Daniel, and Devin.
All day, I got birthday texts, calls, and wall posts on Facebook, which I thank everybody for. My grandma made a beautiful cake for me that I ate with my best girlfriends and close family members that were in the area. After that, the girls and I went to Summer Palace to eat, which we had a great time doing with our ninja waiter and wonton broth. Then we came home and the ones that were left played Apples to Apples, the official game of everyone I've met.
It was so awesome to see them. I was glad to share this birthday with Amber, who I've been getting close to recently, Kathleen, someone who I truly believe is one of my soulmates and would never choose to do without, and Kristina, who I usually don't get to see that often but was able to celebrate my birthday with me. I thought Devin forgot my birthday, but I was happily proved wrong when I saw that he wished me well on both myspace and facebook.
This weekend I'm going to continue the celebrations at my dad's and I'll get to see my grammy, which is always a blast. I can't wait to see them all.
Thank you everyone who's made the last 18 years ones worth reliving if I had the chance. Although my life has been filled with hardships and almost fatal heartbreak, I have also been blessed with family members and fantastic friends that gave me the love and strength to counter the hard times. You've all helped make me the person I am today, a person that not only you love, but that I love too. Thank you for sharing my life thus far with me, and I hope you stay put for a long time to come. :)

The Hunt for Moby Raven

Two days ago, I discovered that Rudolf Martin a.k.a. hottest German without makeup ever, was in another vampire movie called Raven. It came out in August 2009 and barely anyone's heard of it, so I was like "Cool, it should be on DVD by now." So I searched every shopping site I could think of for this movie, but apparently it doesn't exist. The only thing that taunts me with the possibility it's somewhere floating the internet (or a movie store) is the imdb page. So I've decided that this movie is my current white whale; I will search the ends of the internet for this movie and I won't rest until I find it! Or at least a DVD release date.

Prom was awesome!

But of course, Class of 2010 was there, and we always know how to throw a good party. If you were born in late 1991-early 1992, you were born with party genes.
But let me start from the beginning of my promtastic tale. About a month ago, my bff Kat invited me to go to prom with her, since, as a graduate, I couldn't go without being invited by a current student. Then the month of shopping and working out ensued, with a lot of good times and great sales being discovered. I found a great dress, cute (not to mention comfy) shoes, and a gorgeous mask. I might start collecting masquerade masks after this.
Then we (Kat, 4 other friends, and I) had to find a place to take prom pictures. We looked at a local tree place, thingy magig, but that was being rented out for a wedding on the same day. We wound up picking a hospital with gorgeous fountains.
Prom day arrives. Kat stayed the night before, so we got up early and went to work. My grandmother did my hair and Kat did my nails before I took her home so she could get ready herself. When I came back, my aunt did a gorgeous job on my makeup and finally, finally, I could put on my beautiful black dress. Now fully dressed, I went to pick Kat up, who still wasn't ready. By the time she was dressed, we were late to meet the others for pictures. Oh well, we looked hot. My grandma came along to help us take pics and we had a good time looking around the hospital's beautiful scenery.
After our photoshoot, we picked up another friend and went to Summer Palace to eat. I tried some eel, which actually wasn't too bad, but it did look like Petrie from Land Before Time. Needless to say, we ate well before prom lol.
Then, finally, we went to prom. I thought that my hair loose, a mask on, and in a dress, no one would recognize me. The first seven people we saw who greeted "Hey, Kayla" kind of ruined that plan for me. Prom was a blast; we danced, yelled, and had a great time with people we never expected to hang out with. I couldn't have asked for a better night. I was dancing with some of my best friends in the world, I was making eye contact with a hot dj, and then the girls came over to stay at my house again. I can't wait to do this all over again sometime.

Prom and Commercials

Well, I've been getting ready for prom lately, but I still need shoes, hair tinsel, and a masquerade mask. I finally got all the jewelry I planned today, woot! I'm very excited for prom this year and I intend to get tons of pictures this time. I might be snapping pics more than dancing lol.
Now for some of my favorite commercials (that I can think of):
Betty White's Snickers
Doritos Boy
And my all-time favorite forever; Old Spice Man.

Whoopists and Shopping!

Some of the Whoopists yesterday got together for a water fight! For the Whoopists that didn't come, YOU DISAPPOINT CHUCK NORRIS!!! It was a lot of fun, for the whole 2 minutes it lasted. We didn't fill up all the water balloons, some of the water guns didn't work, and only 6 of us showed up. We're going to try again in a couple of weeks, and this time we're going to plan ahead. We'll fill up those water balloons at 5 in the morning if we have too!
After that, my bff Kat and I went to the mall to window shop. In one store, we found the perfect dress for her! It was her size, her favorite color, and looked amazing on her! It's that one dress every girl searches for her entire life! We didn't have the dough at the time to get it, but it's in the works for her to get it by prom. :) We're gonna look so good and have such a great time there! We still have to buy shoes and a few accessories, but I'm sure everything'll work out by then! I need one more bracelet and some star earrings, maybe a necklace, and then I'll be all set.

Kurt Cobain movie

So apparently there's a new Kurt Cobain movie in the works and Twilight-heartthrob R.Ptaz is being considered for playing America's most iconic grunge-rocker. I laughed when I heard this because one of my friends loves Kurt like I love James Dean and I don't think she'd be too happy if this was set in stone. Of course, she'll be even more upset once she finds out that Kurt's ex-wife and the occasional fan-believed murderer, Courtney Love, is one of the executive producers of the film. That kind of bothers me too in a way. In my opinion, if there's going to be a biopic about someone, then the people closest to that particular person shouldn't be handling the creative aspects of the film. If someone who wasn't involved with them is in charge of the movie, then there's a better chance that the movie will be less biased towards certain individuals. I have a feeling that Courtney might use this movie to put her in a better light and make Kurt look like some kind of monster.

WWE has infected my mind

It's gotten to the point where Brandon and I watch WWE Raw and NXT every week. I've put Tough Love Couples and Celebrity Apprentice aside to possibly watch John Cena, Randy Orton, and (if I'm Lucky) Bret Hart. Dangit, eyecandy prevails. I also got to talking with one of my best friends about WWF (when it was fun for everyone) and we remembered some of our favorite moments of wrestling: anytime Chris Jericho did the Walls of Jericho, Kane choke-slamming Tori, Kane wearing a mask, Triple H ruining Stephanie's life before she switched sides. Then I remembered my main man (besides The Rock) Scotty too Hottie, doing the worm! I loved that move, and the Too Cool dance afterward.
Whoopism is making a comeback in a fun way! Some of my fellow Whoopists and I are going to have a water fight at one of our local parks this Saturday. We'll be bringing water balloons, water guns, and the good, old-fashioned water bottles and duke it out in public. Maybe I'll stay out of it and just tape it to put it on our future YouTube account.
I bought a couple of dresses for prom this past weekend and since I couldn't decide which one to wear, I asked 5 of my closest companions to vote between my black dress and my mixed dress. The black dress won, 3-2, so it looks like I'll be all black and silver for prom this year :) and of course, that's never a problem.

Long time no blog

Wow, it's been forever since I've blogged! Man, what to talk about. Nothing too much happened personally, so that's out. Well, all that leaves is anime.
I've discovered Black Blood Brothers, which is pretty epic in my opinion. The bad news? It's only 12 episodes :(. Once again, I'm considering hopping on a plane to Japan and demanding its creators to make more, as long as it doesn't become the vampire DBZ or YGO. I also found out that Vic Mignogna is going to play Zero in Vampire Knight's english dub. I kind of can't wait to hear him, but I'm also kind of dreading it. Zero's pretty emo, so he can't have a haughty, teenager voice like Ed, but he also can't sound raspy like Kougaiji. I hope Kaname sounds good too :). I'm about to name Vic "Mr. Anime" since he somehow gets involved in every popular anime show known to America.
My brother and I watched Wrestlemania XXVI on Sunday. Luckily for me, most of my picks (Randy Orton, John Cena, Undertaker, Triple H, Rey Mysterio, and Bret Hart) won their matches, but Edge lost. At least he did a pretty cool spear on Chris Jericho. John Cena took his belt back (WOOT!!) from Batista, the monster, and now he thinks he's boss, which he kind of is. He and Randy make a good team btw. Triple H took out Sheamus (a.k.a. Pasty); hopefully this'll make Casper the Irish Ghost stop randomly attacking people, aside from taking a lead pipe to Triple H last night *sweatdrop*. Undertaker and Shawn Michaels had their Streak vs. Career match, and after a long, emotionally draining match, Undertakers streak won out over Shawn Michaels career. HBK said his farewell speech last night and has left the world of WWE. I'm kinda sad about that. But Undertaker's entrance on Wrestlemania was EPIC!! The fog! The lights! The music! THE WALK!!! He's Hades, I swear to Ra, and I love him more for it. Congrats, boys!!

I could ruin Draco Malfoy's life

Here's Westlife performing Greased Lightning. These boys are really good at covering, like Brandy's "Have You Ever" and O-Town's "All or Nothing". Speaking of "Have You Ever", it should be a crime to make the music so romantic and the lyrics so sad. It tears my heart up trying to follow it.
Here's a fun vid: BoA's "Energetic". Don't worry, it's in English. I've never seen a female pop artist dance so much to her own song.

Save the Wolves!!

I've decided today that I want to make a difference in the world, and what better way to do that than help somebody that can't speak up on their own? I've made it my life goal to help save the wolves and get them off the endangered species list. I want to get active and help these beautiful creatures as much as I can. And I don't want it to stop with just wolves; I want to eventually go on volunteer travel expeditions to help out. for more information, check these out: Protect Endangered Animals and Defenders of Wildlife.

It also features Zeale, an unsigned hip-hop artist who seems like a pretty chill guy.

Dance videos, woot!

Some Chinese kids having a dance battle. Even Brandon was impressed!
U-Know from DBSK dances to Usher's "Yeah!" and completely picks up a chick while scoring some gangsta points.
The battle between Rock and Hip-Hop will now be decided!! Althought, Brandon and I have our suspicions that this is actually a Satantic ritual in dance form.

Interactive videos? Me like!

Today on the good ol' Youtube, the featured videos are these interactive adventure videos, which are actually a lot of fun. My particular favorites come from the creative minds of Chad, Matt, and Rob. The videos are in good quality, the events that take place are funny, and you immediately find favorites in the cast; for example, every time I see Big Hurl I cheer and clap my hands like a child seeing Barney. The point of their videos is to make decisions that affect the story and ultimately keep Chad, Matt, and Rob alive. Try it, you'll like it. Here's "The Birthday Party", the first one I did.

Seriously, what is it with the hair cutting?

Hyde cut his hair. Again. He stills looks beautiful but...well I guess there are no buts to it. L'Arc~en~ciel released a new single and supposedly it's the theme for the Olympics this year, but I haven't checked to verify it myself yet and I'm sure I'll be too lazy to do it ever. Here's the single, "Bless". Oh, and Tetsu changed his name to Tetsuya. However will the fans adapt?
Hyde really does look magnificent though. I catch myself almost fainting a little whenever he appears on my screen. Most beautiful man in the world.

Yay! Snow!

We actually got real snow today! We had gotten some on Christmas Eve, but it was child's play compared to the stuff we got today. I slept through most of it, but when Brandon came home, we bundled up and played around a bit outside. Of course, Brandon practically moved out there for the day while I couldn't handle more than several minutes at a time. I managed to get some good pictures though, especially of Brandon's snowman, Bob Chino. It honestly looks magical outside; if you saw our street at night, you'd think we lived in a poor part of New York, not Texas.
Now we're all inside, trying to warm up. I might bust out the hot cocoa and finish reading Death Note: Another Note or watch my new Death Note DVD. :)

Song covers (Mostly Lady Gaga)

As a huge fan of Lady Gaga, I had to check out Ryan Boone's cover of "Paparazzi". This is very, very beautiful! I would've loved a full version.
My American Idol Chris Daughtry also covered Lady Gaga's "Poker Face". Some chick name Pixie Lott made an awesome version as well.
Disco Curtis remade "Just Dance", the first song I ever heard from Gaga. To think, I wouldn't have paid attention to her if Colby O'Donis and Akon weren't involved.

Varsity Fanclub also did a cover of Ke$sha's "Tik Tok". I liked their version better, personally.
Check out Boyce Avenue's "4 minutes (acoustic)", the coolio song from Madonna and J.T.

Abridging, the greatest form of creative comedy

Caramelldansen: annoyingly addicting. I both want to thank and maim whoever created this delightful aneurysm. Naruto abridged episode 23, the greatest episode in my biased opinion, introduced it to me. BLAME ITACHI!!!
YGOTAS episode 46 a.k.s. season 2 finale, was awesome! The last episode ended with the promise of a light saber battle that I didn't think was possibly to continue, since Yu-Gi-Oh doesn't use light sabers (obviously). However, LK and Kroze surprised everyone with a flash animation of Melvin and Bakura dueling with light sbaers! Then they went back to fighting with a children's card game. And is this the end of YGOTAS? Did 4kids and Melvin finally triumph over LK, crushing the hearts of fans? You'll have to watch and find out!

V.C. Andrews time, baby

There are times when I look at my blog and see all the complaining and the media links and wish my posting was more insightful or had more learning experiences in them. Then I remember that that is what my songs are for.
I've been reading Petals on the Wind, V.C. Andrews' Flowers in the Attic sequel, lately and I'm kind of tempted to write a song about it, since I can relate to the main characters so well. No, I haven't been locked up in an attic for over three years or spent most of my adult life trying to get revenge on my mother by sleeping with whatever man seemed important at the time, but there have been times when Cathy Dollanganger thought or did something and I was like "Hear, hear." I hate half the men in this story though, and become exasperated with Cathy when she hooks up with them and falls in "love". For real, Julian Marquet, an abusive, unfaithful ballet dancer? And Bart, her stepfather/aggressively passionate lawyer? This can't possibly click in anybody else's head. Even Paul, her way older legal guardian, wasn't a good idea, even though he treated her a whole lot better. I don't know what kind of tricks this girl has, but she has a habit of making every person that could possibly affect her life horribly, including her older brother, fall madly in love with her, and I do mean mad. These guys have chased her at a rail road station, broken her toes, and done everything they can to injure her, just to prove their love. How weird, in my opinion. If any of this makes logical sense to you that you'd try this on your object of desire, please stop reading my blogs.

New Year, New Post

Hola, few readers! This is it, the first day of 2010. A new year of songs, bonds, and blog posts to look forward to. I've already started working on a chorus for a new song that's going to be called In You, so I'm doing good so far in my opinion. Hope everyone has a year full of blessings, happiness, and strength to get through the not-so-happy times and turn them around.
